Hi, I’m Sarah!
Let me help you make your house a home.

Every client’s home is different and should look different. It shouldn’t just be a new version of my own personal style or what is trendy in design at the moment. Your home should be functional for you first and foremost, beautiful to look at, and easy to live in.

A dream born in a little girl’s heart

Sarah Lorraine Interiors was born in July 2021 after over 15 years of working in design and construction related industries. I grew up in a family that worked in remodel, construction, and furniture making businesses and I learned about beautiful and functional design at a very young age. Now, I am SO EXCITED to share my passion for good design with others.

I love breathing new life into old homes, remodeling spaces to make them just the way you want them, refreshing rooms with paint, new furniture, and decor, and also designing floor plans and new homes from the ground up!

I believe design done right means making functional spaces beautiful

I believe that design done right means making functional spaces beautiful. Your home should work seamlessly with your lifestyle and be easy to live in. It should be a place where you feel comfortable, relaxed, and just “at home”. I have a keen eye for being able to see a space for what it CAN be. I can look past the ugly and dysfunctional, and help you bring your dreams of beautiful, purposeful design to life.

I can’t wait to get to know you, and help you create beautiful, functional spaces that you love to live in with bold, balanced design!

What’s up with the flamingo?

Bold, balanced design. That’s the motto behind our flamingo mascot, but where did the flamingo come from in the first place?

I have always loved flamingos. I think when I was younger it was probably mostly because they were pink, but as I got older I learned to love the symbolism they represent. They are strong, bold creatures that demand attention. Their bright pink colors can’t be missed! They are masters of balance. They stand tall on one leg and never falter. They are a symbol of confidence, femininity, style, grace, and a little sass too!

When Sarah Lorraine Interiors was started I knew I had to include the flamingo imagery into my business somehow. Making bold statements with design is one of my favorite things to do. I never want to stick to the norm just because it is trendy or “in style” at the moment. I want to make sure the designs I’m creating reflect the lifestyle and dreams of my clients. Sometimes that requires making bold choices that other designers may shy away from, but I am always glad I did what I knew was right at the end of the project.

Balance is another hallmark of design that I strive for in each and every project. Not only visual balance in a room, but balance with the budget, with the relationship you make with clients, tradespeople, and vendors as well. If things are off balance, nothing looks or feels right.

The flamingo is the perfect symbol to embody all the things I want Sarah Lorraine Interiors to be known for.

Flamingos at the Zoo

Sadey and I with the Flamingos at the San Diego Zoo

Funny story…

When I was in middle school art class we had a project where we were making our own rubber stamps. We had to choose a photo from a magazine to model our stamp off of. I picked a gorgeous flamingo. The picture had several flamingos in it, but I just wanted to focus on the one large flamingo in the front of the crowd. So when tracing the picture onto my rubber stamp, I accidentally copied a leg from the flamingo in the background as well, and ended up giving my flamingo three legs to stand on…(I know) After the project was over and I was showing my friends and family my stamped artwork, they all pointed out that my flamingo was beautiful but it had three legs! My answer was “Well the 4th leg is bent up underneath its body so you can’t see it!” Which of course everyone answered, “Sarah, flamingos only have TWO legs!” I was embarrassed at first, but it’s a hilarious story that has stuck with me my entire life!
